She graduated at the Higher Institute of Dramatic Art in 1982 only to begin a rich career with the play Nymph from Mars by director Kamal Yassin. Her early film roles include Mothers-in-Exile, Shame among more than thirty films during the eighties. Of the most important films as well: Cheap Meat, Pleasure Market, Ya Donia Ya Gharami and Ramadan over the Volcano. Shaheen won during her career numerous awards for the films like The Bum, The Gentle, Dantela, Fawzia’s Recipe.
